Netflix and Mattel Television have released the first images of the new cartoon series Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which is a sequel to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe from the 1980s.
He-Man returns in modern
The implementation comes from the Powerhouse Animation Studios (Castlevania), director Kevin Smith is a showrunner and also stages the individual episodes. The series is designed to answer open questions from the original and to go even deeper into mythology. While the series from the 80s mostly offered self-contained episodes, in which some interesting connections were made between the characters and their role in the world, the new series seems to be much more story-heavy and coherent.
The now published first pictures show us, among others, Prince Adam and He-Man, Skeletor, Battle-Cat, Teela, the sorceress and also Beastman. Although the characters no longer look the same as in the cartoon series from the 1980s, their look is clearly inspired by the predecessor. The magician Orko, for example, looks much darker than the funny character in the original. But the figures can be recognized directly.
The series starts in several parts. Part 1 consists of five episodes, which should be available on July 23rd via Netflix. Have you grown up with the cartoon series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and want to learn more about the heroes and the world and see new adventures with them, then Masters of the Universe: Revelation might be interesting for you.
