With Horizon Forbidden West, Guerrilla Games is working on a successor to the successful Horizon Zero Dawn: The release is planned for PS5. The new action role-playing game was part of the one-hour Sony show that featured the first games for PlayStation 5. Game Director Mathijs De Jonge now reveals further details in a developer video. Due to the SSD built into the PS5, there are practically no loading times in Horizon Forbidden West. He also gives details about the game world: The map should be a bit larger than in Zero Dawn. The developer also goes into the release period for Forbidden West on PlayStation 5.

With Horizon Forbidden West Sony has announced a successor to the successful Horizon Zero Dawn on its PS5 show. So fans can look forward to another adventure with heroine Aloy. In a recent developer video, Game Director Mathijs De Jonge goes into more details about Forbidden West. He explains, for example, the advantages of the PlayStation 5: Thanks to the built-in SSD, there is practically no loading time in the new adventure. In addition, graphically more detailed game environments are possible.

In Horizon Forbidden West, Aloy is drawn to the western United States. She travels from Utah to the west coast – from valleys to deserts and striking landscapes to destroyed towns. The adventure also takes them to remote areas under water. In conclusion, the developer also commented on the intended release period: Horizon Forbidden West should come on the market in 2021. The release is planned for PlayStation 5. The new console is announced for the end of this year. So far, Sony has not given a specific release date.
