The action role-playing game Horizon: Zero Dawn has started on PC. However, there are still a few problems that the developers are already working on.

Do you already have the PC version of Guerilla Games Action-RPG Horizon: Zero Dawn fetched? You may also have noticed a few things that are not quite as smooth as possible. The development team has therefore announced that they are already working on solving these problems.

The team is aware of the problems

First of all, the team points out that for Horizon: Zero Dawn (buy now for € 25.56) should use the graphics card drivers 451.67 for Nvidia cards and 20.7.2 for AMD graphics cards. Besides, you shouldn't be surprised. Because when you start it for the first time, shaders have to be compiled, which takes around 10 to 15 minutes.

The following issues were also announced that the developers are working on:

  • The anisotropic filtering settings do not work. This is a high priority issue.
  • Some systems may experience a brief stutter during general world travel, UI updates, quest updates, or camera changes in cutscenes. This is a high priority issue.
  • Some animations are designed to only update at 30 frames per second, even when the game is running at a much higher frame rate. The team is currently investigating how it can improve this with a future update.
  • The shader compilation process does not properly check the remaining space on the user's PC and may crash if the user's storage drive is short of space (the compilation process requires an additional ~ 2 GB of space).

When a patch can be expected to fix these things in Horizon: Zero Dawn is currently still unclear. Do you want to know how well the game's PC port worked? Then read our test.
