If you want all the legendarys, you can't avoid PvP

PvP in WoW is really not for everyone. In principle, that is not a problem either. If you prefer to play PvE, you can switch off war mode, stay away from arenas and battlefields and have nothing to do with player-versus-player combat. Now and then there are situations in which players feel compelled to do the unpopular PvP after all. In Battle for Azeroth, for example, the essence of conflict and duplicity is such a case. It is one of the best essences for most play styles and can only be obtained through PvP, which you can hear many players complain about in the forums. With the upcoming expansion Shadowlands, the essences are history and the problem is no longer necessary. However, there is another problem on the horizon as Blizzard is at risk of making the same mistake again.

In Shadowlands the essences, Azerite perks and corruption effects are no longer available and are being replaced by the new Legendarys (with some old effects), among other things. We have to make these ourselves, for which we need the right recipes and resources. The latter we get Torghast, the endless dungeon that is located in the depths of the gullet. The recipes, on the other hand, are available from various different sources. Each recipe is assigned to a specific source so that you know exactly where to go to get the template in question. So far so good. Most players also see the new feature that these recipes can be unlocked directly across the account as very positive. However, as the Shadowlands beta progresses, the first sources of legendary recipes will slowly be revealed. And one of them is the PvP vendor.

In exchange for 1,500 of the new PvP currency Shadowlands PvP Honor, he sells you various legendary templates. Including a general effect for all classes, as well as various class-specific recipes. However, you have to give the developer credit for the fact that these templates are mostly effects whose influence on pure DpS, healing or survivability should be rather small. As such, they are unlikely to be the first choice for PvE players. With the amount of new effects in Shadowlands (pact skills, soul ties and the appropriate media) it can quickly happen that the best Legendary is one of those from the PvP dealer, which would lead to a great outcry. If the balance fits, then only completists would have to play in PvP, which would certainly bring far less resentment.

The following Legendarys are currently available from the PvP dealer in beta:

  • All classes
    • Sephuz's proclamation: Reduces the effect of control effects on you by 10 percent. Casting a control effect, an interruption or the removal of a spell increases your secondary stats by X for 15 seconds. Can only occur every 30 seconds.
      • Slot: neck, shoulders, chest
  • Death knight
    • Grip of the Everlasting: After using Death Grip, you can use the spell again within three seconds, despite the cooldown.
  • Demon Hunter
    • Darkest Hour: Darkness is triggered automatically when you drop below 35 percent health. Can trigger every 2 minutes at most.
  • Druid
    • Druid Runecarve 1: The effects of Thick Fur, Astral Influence, Swiftness of Nature and Ysera's Gift are increased by 75 percent. When you change into the shape of your affinity, you get ten seconds of Heart of the Wild. Can only occur once per minute.
  • Hunter
  • magician
    • Grisly Icicle: Your frost, fire and arcane damage against targets affected by Frost Nova is increased by 10 percent and also no longer breaks its effect.
  • monk
    • Roll out: Rolling has an additional charge
  • paladin
    • Uther's Guard: The cooldown of Blessings of Freedom, Blessings of Sacrifice, Blessings of Protection and Blessings of Protection is reduced by one second for each Holy Power used.
  • priest
    • Vault of Heavens: Faith Leap lets you fly to your intended destination and has two charges.
  • Villain
  • shaman
    • Chains of Devastation: Chain healing turns your next chain lightning strike into an instant. Chain lightning turns your next chain heal into an instant instant.
