E3 2021 passed without a word on Senua’s saga: Hellblade 2, the sequel to the highly acclaimed masterpiece by Ninja Theory. But do not despair! In a new video you don’t see any gameplay, but you can take a look behind the scenes – and catch a few words about the story and the location.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice thrilled fans and the trade press in 2017 with his story about a Celtic warrior whose psychoses lead her through the dark world of her mind. It has been known for a while that a sequel is being planned – but developer Ninja Theory has recently been reluctant to provide any new information about the game.

But not anymore! In a new “Making of” -like video you can find out more about the backgrounds, a little bit about that Story as well as something for Location from Hellblade 2, underlaid with impressive images of the female warrior. The only drawback: It doesn’t look like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be released anytime soon. But as the saying goes? Good things come to those who wait.

Check out the video for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 for yourself:

Ninja Theory has not yet revealed anything about the story itself. But in the trailer you can at least see that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is filmed in Iceland: The particularly barren landscape is used here to create the world of Hellblade 2. Melina Jürgens will take over Senua’s role again via motion capture, and it is also explained that Jürgens has completed combat training over the years in order to be able to better represent Senua in Hellblade 2.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will appear to be an even more brutal game that still doesn’t shy away from the dark moments of Senua’s psyche.

Here you can download the first game Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice from the PlayStation Store.

A release date has not yet been announced for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. In the meantime, however, it is already clear that the sequel will not appear on the PlayStation like the first part. Instead, the game should come exclusively for Xbox consoles and PC on the market.
