The developers of the action RPG Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 talked about the new combat system. It is important to the team that you are basically a weapon that can make short work of many opponents.
The fights in the upcoming action RPG Vampires: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be different than in the first part. According to Florian Schwarzer, Senior Producer at Paradox Interactive, the team from the first Bloodlines simply tried too much, which was hardly feasible at the time. That should change now.
You are powerful
It is important for the developers, that you in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 (buy now for 59,99 €) even at the beginning feels powerful as a young vampire. You can make short work of people. But battling powerful opponents like other vampires will be a challenge. It is always important to remember in the battles that your body and your movements play a role in your attacks. Your body will move in the direction you are attacking. Movement is therefore extremely important.
In addition, in Bloodlines 2 a better AI is used, as in the predecessor. Enemies must behave in an interesting and realistic way. That brings with it real challenges in the fighting. This time around, the team can focus on implementing battles well in first-person view, because there is no third-person view. That makes a lot easier. In addition, the game is based on the rules of the Pen & Paper game Vampire: The Masquerade in the 5th Edition, but the developers do not want to implement it 1: 1. Because the computer game must work as such.
If you stand directly in front of an opponent and shoot at him, then you have to hit, even if the actual dice roll would go wrong with regard to the skills. Therefore, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will turn on statistics, but not slavishly implement them, so that the fighting feels really good. Level upgrades give you active and passive boosts that affect your attacks, but you do not increase the percentage of whether you hit or not.
