Is CD Projekt Red treated unfairly?

Did CD Projekt Red deserve the malice and criticism that the studio is currently getting for the unsuccessful release of Cyberpunk 2077? The internet is full of bug videos and memes, gamers are demanding reimbursements and sometimes even berating the developers. Right?

CD Projekt Red is feeling the frustration of the players

There are some players who are also disappointed with the game's release status, especially on PS4 and Xbox One, but who also question whether what is currently happening is still okay. Because you could think that Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now € 54.89 ) the most buggy game ever published. It is apparently easy to forget the release of Fallout 76 or the fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War apparently crashes consoles or the many bugs that Red Dead Redemption 2 suffered from when it was released. Yes, there was criticism here too, but with Cyberpunk 2077 that seems to have increased many times over. There is currently a real witch hunt taking place on the studio and the developers.

The company's social media team currently has their hands full working damage control and stands between the angry players and the developers. The team is getting the broadside, even though it had basically nothing to do with the development of the game or the decision to release it as it is. Many players don't seem to care. Apparently you look for the next best victim and pull others along with you to "step in" as well.

There are also quite different opinions about Cyberpunk 2077. On Twitter, between criticism and insults as well as tons of memes, you can read posts such as:

  • I wouldn't say the game is bad. It's fine but full of bugs.
  • We believe in you. Your game is not dead.
  • Ignore the morons. They have nothing better to do. Thank you for taking care of making the game better and better.
  • Funny that this game was removed from the Playstation Store but where was Sony when Fallout 76, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and Anthem were released?
  • It's still better than many other games released this year. CoD crashes consoles, Watch Dogs has a savebug and I prefer not to talk about FIFA …

Now it's up to CD Projekt Red to get Cyberpunk 2077 in good condition. We'll see if that can save the image and calm down the disappointed fans.
