It is practically certain that Battlefield 6 will be launched this year. Those responsible at Electronic Arts have not yet officially announced the shooter. But now there are rumors that the title will be revealed soon.
DICE's multiplayer shooter Battlefield 5 is now a good two and a half years old. Accordingly the community has been discussing the successor for a while – However, the developers have not officially announced this so far, even if Battlefield 6 is to appear in 2021.
Insiders provide specific information about the announcement date
In the meantime, however, the two industry insiders Jeff Grubb and Tom Henderson have made specific predictions about when fans can expect an official announcement of Battlefield 6. Grubb said in a live stream on Twitch that DICE and EA want to reveal the game in May, even if a final date has not yet been set. Henderson also wrote on Twitter that the unveiling of Battlefield 6 should take place on May 7, 2021.
Even if both insiders do not give any specific sources or further details on the scope of the announcement, their statements coincide with EA's statement that the game will be presented to the public in spring 2021, i.e. before E3 2021, which will be a digital event in June To take place in 2021. EA's CEO Andrew Wilson also confirmed in the quarterly report for the second quarter of fiscal 2020 last November that Battlefield 6 should be in stores for the 2021 Christmas season. An announcement in May 2021 makes perfect sense.
Many details about the new multiplayer shooter are not yet known, even if Henderson claimed in January 2021 that the setting would be based on Battlefield 3. If the date forecast by Henderson and Grubb is correct for the announcement date, we will know in a few weeks what exactly awaits us with Battlefield 6.
