Electronic Arts is rumored to be working on a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. However, there could be something else behind it than suspected.

We have previously reported that Electronic Arts is said to be remaking too Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is working. However, it could be something else.

Not a remake, but rather a sequel

Another source claims that it is basically not a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It is much more a sequel. The new game is said to take the contents of the first two KotOR games and combine them into something new to add the series to the official Star Wars Canon. So it obviously won't be a remake in the real sense. We won't be playing the same KotOR that we already know.

How exactly this new game looks then is unclear. We will probably get a completely new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which uses the plot of the two predecessors and somehow brings them together to something new. However, all of this can still be treated as a rumor. Electronic Arts has not yet confirmed the existence of such a game. If it is true, however, then we should be less in the mood for a remake than for a completely new KotOR.
