Slowly but surely the time of the year is dawning when Activision Blizzard normally announces the next episode of the shooter series Call of Duty and shares the first tangible information with the public. This announcement is still pending, but at least a new and interesting clue has surfaced recently.
The operators of the BlizzTrack website made a discovery in the files of the Battle.net client. It is the logo of a previously unknown or more precisely defined title with the project name “Slipstream”. Since this logo was found in the immediate vicinity of the Call of Duty 2021 assets, it seems reasonable to assume that there is a direct link to the shooter franchise. In addition, the design of the logo suggests that it actually hides the next COD episode, which is supposed to take you back into the turmoil of World War II. Call of Duty: Vanguard has always been the name of the next episode. But “Slipstream” is apparently just a project name for internal use at Activision Blizzard and the development studio Sledgehammer Games.
However, you shouldn’t take the whole thing at face value, as it could be something completely different. It cannot be ruled out that the publisher is deliberately trying to lure fans on the wrong track. Activision Blizzard has not yet commented on this find. In any case, it shouldn’t be long before Activision reveals details about Call of Duty 2021.
