A picture of a previously unknown VR headset from Oculus was leaked on Twitter today. It could be the Oculus Quest S, which is said to be already in production. In addition to the color change, there are also changes to the headband and other elements of the VR glasses, according to the leak. Facebook has not yet commented on the topic.
Facebook appears to be working on a new model of the Oculus Quest. The all-in-one VR headset was released for the first time in May 2019. However, it does not seem to be a direct successor, but rather an S version of the VR glasses. Only last year, the Oculus Rift S, an improved version of Facebook's high-end VR model, was released. The previous rumors about an Oculus Quest S have now been rekindled with a new leak on Twitter.
If this picture is actually the Oculus Quest S, then VR fans can look forward to a color change. Instead of black, the model could then come in white. The USB-C port can now also be found on the side of the VR glasses. There seem to be many changes to the Oculus Quest S headband. It is very likely that the weight has also dropped somewhat to further improve comfort. Facebook has not yet responded to the Twitter leak.
Just a month ago, those responsible announced the end of Oculus Go. As of December 4, 2020, the VR headset for beginners will no longer be sold. After that, the company will focus entirely on Oculus Rift and Quest. The all-in-one VR glasses now offer popular titles such as Beat Saber, Superhot VR or Moss, which can be played directly via the headset. We will of course keep you up to date with news about the S-model of the quest here.
