Luminous Productions has published a video for the in-house Luminous Engine that introduces us to the impressive World Editor. The material shows, among other things, how the open game worlds are built with the graphics engine. Like its predecessor, Final Fantasy 16 could also use the Luminous Engine. Luminous Productions is currently busy with Project Athia, which will be released for PS5 and PC.
The Luminous Productions team has released a new video that gives us an impressive look at the studio's Luminous Engine. The World Editor shows how environments for open game worlds are created with the graphics engine. It could also give us a taste of games like Final Fantasy 16, if publisher Square Enix actually decides on the Luminous Engine in the end.
Luminous Productions was most recently responsible for Final Fantasy 15. The role-playing game relied on the studio's graphic engine. The last published Final Fantasy 7 Remake was produced by Square Enix with the Unreal Engine. It is currently unclear which engine will be used to develop the as yet unannounced Final Fantasy 16.
The makers of Luminous Productions are currently busy with another project. At the PS5 event in June, Project Athia was announced as a story-oriented adventure, but it is not intended to be an RPG. Many details have not yet been revealed. The story comes from a team of talented writers from the fields of film, games, TV and fantasy literature. The team of authors is led by Gary Whittawho, among other things, contributed to the script of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Project Athia will be released in the future for PlayStation 5 and PC. We will of course keep you up to date with new information.
