According to the creators of the Microsoft Flight Simulator, the title will initially be exclusively available in the Microsoft Store. A release on Steam or in the Epic Games Store is not yet planned. However, a FAQ about the game shows that over time you want to publish the title on as many platforms as possible.

On August 18, 2020, the new Microsoft Flight Simulator for PC will initially appear exclusively in the Microsoft Store. The responsible persons have confirmed this again in the FAQ on the website. A release on Steam or in the Epic Games Store is therefore not yet planned. But that could change in the future. According to the FAQ, the creators want to make the Microsoft Flight Simulator available on as many platforms as possible.

So if you want to get started with the flight simulator for the release, you have to either buy the game in the Microsoft Store or use the version for the Xbox Game Pass. Incidentally, the title is still planned for release on Xbox One. If you have the digital version of the Microsoft Flight Simulator (buy now) purchased in the Microsoft Store, thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere you will automatically receive the implementation for Xbox One when it appears in stores.

The release of the flight simulation was only announced on Monday. It was also revealed that the title will come in three different editions. In the standard version of the Microsoft Flight Simulator, players can look forward to 20 aircraft models and 30 handmade airport replicas at launch. In the most expensive Premium Deluxe Edition there are even 30 planes and 40 airports. The Xbox Game Pass version is the standard edition of the title. You can find more details about the content in our Monday announcement.
