Those responsible at Capcom can look forward to a successful start for Monster Hunter Rise. Within the first week, the publisher delivered the game over five million times for Nintendo Switch worldwide. The Monster Hunter series has now reached another milestone. Since the first offshoot in 2004, over 71 million copies of all games have been sent.
Even if there is a difference between units shipped and units actually sold, this gigantic number speaks for the popularity of Monster Hunter with gamers. The breakthrough of the series in the west was responsible for the release of Monster Hunter World, which is the best-selling game in Capcom’s history with 16.8 million units – well ahead of Resident Evil 7 with 8.5 million units. Monster Hunter Rise will initially be available exclusively for Nintendo Switch. The publisher has already announced that a PC version is also on the way. However, this will only appear in stores at the beginning of 2022. You can find more information about Monster Hunter Rise in our test.
