Although the release of the action RPG Cyberpunk 2077 was actually considered a fix in September, CD Projekt Red announced on June 18 that the release date had been postponed to November 19. The DLCs and the multiplayer project are also affected.
Everything about Cyberpunk 2077 comes later
"We didn't specifically mention the number of DLCs – we prefer to call them extensions because they are larger than typical DLCs. But of course the fact that the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed will postpone the release of such potential extensions," CD Projekt Reds Vice President of Business Development, Michał Nowakowski.
He also explained why: "We have made no specific announcement as to when this is planned, but since they are actually being developed, these are not parts that we are storing in the drawer, so to speak. They have to be developed first."
Also the multiplayer project for Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now for € 59.99) will appear later. "When it comes to multiplayer, the launch will be proportionally delayed, similar to the expansions, even though the multiplayer is a little further away – so it's something that is in the future anyway," said Michał Nowakowski.
However, it may not be long before we learn more about CD Projekt Red's plans to release content after the main game is released. Michał Nowakowski commented: "Regarding the number of extensions planned after Cyberpunk, I would not accept anything until we actually announce this number. You have to be a little more patient. This message will come at some point, probably not in the future but it is Part of our marketing campaign to reveal this at some point. "
Adam Kiciński, President of CD Projekt, added: "The delay does not change plans for further content – possibly the date but not the number of planned extensions."
Cyberpunk 2077 is due to be released on November 19, 2020 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One and will also run on PS5 and Xbox Series X with some graphical improvements. 2021 will be followed by a major update for the next-gen consoles, which will make further improvements.
