The January update for will appear in a few days Need for speed heat, As the developers say in a current entry on the racing game website, the patch will be available for download from January 28, 2020 – on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The patch notes are not yet available. However, there is a first outlook on the changes and innovations. One of the highlights is support for steering wheels.

Various models of Thrustmaster and Logitech are supported, including the Thrustmaster T300RS (PS4, PC), Thrustmaster TX (Xbox, PC), Logitech G29 (PS4, PC) and Logitech G920 (Xbox, PC). The Fanatec CSL Elite Racing Wheel (PS4, PC, Xbox One) will also be supported in Need for Speed Heat after the January update.

The racing game will also experience changes in the chat after the January patch. The developers used the Emote wheel from Need for Speed Payback as the basis. "But instead of emotes, you can now send ready-made messages to crew members and rivals in the game session," the developers explain. You can use the chat wheel to ask other players to follow you or to challenge them to the race. You can also communicate with friends at the touch of a button – even when you are not in voice chat.

"Keys to the card" are also new. The developers write: "You can buy them with real money to instantly reveal the positions of collectibles, activities and petrol stations on the in-game card." The January update in Need for Speed Heat is rounded off by "general improvements". If you drive through a gas station in the future, all paint damage will be repaired and scratches removed.

Players also noted that using manual controls can make it too easy to accidentally start an event or go back to the garage after you've just left it. "To prevent this from happening, we are changing the input settings so that you no longer just have to press the corresponding key, but instead have to hold it down to carry out an action," the developers say.
