Netflix users were just enjoying the DOTA animation spectacle Dragon’s Blood, and League of Legends is already getting the next Moba series. Arcane is set in the utopian city of Piltover and its dark side, the Zaun.

Anyone who has ever seen cinematics, trailers and teasers for Leage of Legends should have thought: Hey, why don’t they just make a film or a series? This wish is now coming true. The animation series Arcane is produced for Netflix based on the MOBA world success.

More on the subject: DOTA series Dragon’s Blood – does the story continue?

What is Arcane on Netflix about?

Arcane revolves around two popular characters from League of Legends, We and Jinx. Both characters can already be seen in the short teaser, which also shows the setting: the utopian metropolis Piltover and the gloomy Zaun district below. The story deals with “The origins of two iconic League champions – and the power that will tear them apart.”

The production is a collaboration between Riot Games and Fortiche Productions who have already delivered visual fireworks in the LoL universe in the past and are very familiar with the characters. For example, you were also responsible for the K-pop music video POP / STARS and the atmospheric reveal trailer for Champion Jinx:

In this sense, fans of LoL, but also friends of animation action, can look forward to a feast for the eyes. Now the story just has to inspire! When exactly Arcane will appear has not yet been determined – Herbst 2021 but is the specified period for the start of the series.

Are you looking forward to the series? Is the Piltover / Zaun location enough for a gripping story? Which game should get such a series? Let us know what you think in the comments!
