A zombie apocalypse is a popular topic, whether in series, films or games. The genre will soon be growing with a "Resident Evil" series and now we officially know what kind of story we can look forward to.

Netflix: Resident Evil as a live-action series

So far we don't know much about the series. So far, a cast has not been announced, nor has a date been given for when the series will start. We know however that the first season will have eight episodes and well-known names like Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) and Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead) are on board as producers.

You haven't seen the films yet? You can do that quickly on DVD or Blu-ray.

What is the series about?

The upcoming live action series will be split into two timelines. One name plays a particularly important role in the series. Resident Evil players will surely recognize him: Wesker. The series seems to be less about the former captain of the US police team STARS himself, but about his daughters Jade and Billie. Polygon writes:

“In the course of the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker move to New Raccoon City. New Raccoon City is an industrial city that was forced upon them in their youth. But the more time they spend there, the more they realize that the city is more than it seems and that their father may be hiding dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.

Let's come to the second timeline well over a decade in the future: There are fewer than fifteen million people on earth. And more than six billion monsters – humans and animals infected with the T virus. Jade, now thirty, struggles to survive in this new world as she continues to haunt the secrets of her past – about her sister, her father and herself. "

It is not yet known when the series will be shot and available on Netflix. However, more details about the project should follow in the coming weeks.

Until then, you can maybe pass the time with Resident Evil 3 Remake. The game is a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and a continuation of the game series. Please use the following button. This will take you directly to the product page in the PlayStation Store.
