On the one hand it is a bow to a traditional shrine and on the other hand a pattern of a rising sun on the clothing of the ledge. Many Korean players criticize EA's insensitivity to handling problematic cultural representations.

The trigger for the outrage lies in the History of Korea and Japan justified. The representations shown are one painful memory of historical events during the second world war and the colonization of Korea by Japan.

Developer Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) now announces on Twitter that EA has taken on the criticism from Korean gamers and will make changes:

"Hey Simmers! We changed the reveal trailer and made changes to the expansion pack to be respectful of our Korean players. I want to let you know that these changes will also be in-game when Ab in Snow Paradise appears. "
