The hype about Animal Crossing: New Horizons never ends. According to the latest sales figures from Nintendo, the title has sold over 22.4 million times for Nintendo Switch in less than four months. This means that more than one in three console buyers also owns Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The sales figures for other games also received an update this week.
Nintendo has published the latest sales figures for the Nintendo Switch and selected games. Since the console was released in March 2017, over 61.44 million units have been sold. This means that 5.68 million copies of the hardware were implemented in the last quarter from early April to late June. Compared to the previous year, this is an increase of 166 percent.
In addition, more than 50 million games for the console were sold during that period. Here, too, the value from the previous year could be improved – an increase of 123 percent. Animal Crossing: New Horizons in particular continues to swim on the wave of success. The game sold over 10 million copies in the last quarter.
Since the release on March 20, 2020, over 22.4 million units have been implemented within just over three months. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is already the # 2 top selling Switch game. Only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains in first place with 26.74 million copies. The figures from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (19.99 million), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (18.6 million) , Pokémon Sword & Shield (18.22 million) and Super Mario Odyssey (18.06 million) are impressive. The Ring Fit Adventure, which was last affected by delivery bottlenecks, has meanwhile sold over four million times for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
