The PlayStation 4 gets a new update. The excitement: Two popular functions are simply omitted. The creation of events and the creation of private communities are affected. For this reason, the parental controls have been revised – for good reason.

Are your PS4 communities in danger?

You can no longer create events with the update either. Sony does not provide a comprehensible reason for this step. in the PlayStation Blog it just says simply:

โ€œWith version 8.00 you can no longer create events or access existing events that were created by other users.

We're also removing the ability to create private communities under the Community app on PS4. If you are already part of private communities, you can still access them. "

Further contents of the update are:

  • new avatars (including from Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us 2, Bloodborne and Uncharted 4: Thief's End)
  • the possibility, all microphones your fellow players at once via the menu to mute
  • a revised user interface for the party function of the Playstation and for messages
  • an update of the Remote play app for mobile devices
  • an advanced Two-step authentication
  • … and a advanced parental controls
