While the style of the Resident Evil video game franchise has changed over the years, a few things have stayed the same. The characters fight against zombies, mutants or monsters and the ammunition is usually quite scarce. What you never had to worry about, however, is the preparation of dishes – but that should change with Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil: It’s about survival

If you thought Resident Evil itself was big enough so far, now you’ll be surprised. Resident Evil Village brings a completely new mechanism in the game. So in the survival horror game you don’t just have to concentrate on the witches and possible monsters, but also on the animals.

Like the video from Game Informer shows, it will be essential to catch and slaughter animals. The ingredients must then be brought to the Duke’s kitchen Prepared meals that give you strength or bonuses. For example, if you bring him the right ingredients for a particular stew, you will receive a damage reduction – probably extremely useful.

Resident Evil Village: The Duke plays a big role

In Resident Evil Village, the Duke will not only be your point of contact for delicious dishes. You have to go to him too to improve your weapons, to buy ammunition or to manufacture, to buy useful items or to sell valuable items. You can get the game currency from the undead, who seem to be very attached to their cash even after their death.

Resident Evil Village is expected to be released on May 7, 2021 and can already be pre-ordered.
