Star Wars fans can look forward to another VR adventure from ILMxLAB this year. On the official website, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, a new story was announced, which is linked, among other things, to the theme world from the Disneyland Resort in California.
After the ILMxLAB team released all three parts of Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series, the studio has now announced the next VR adventure in cooperation with Oculus Studios with Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge. The title should appear this year. The story is linked to the theme world of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which can be found at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. A concept artwork for the VR experience was also published.

Looking at the timeline of the sci-fi saga, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge is located between episodes 8 and 9. Players will find themselves on the edge of the Batuu's Black Spire Outpost, which is already the setting in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. In todays announcement the official website states:
"Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge (…) will give players the opportunity to experience their own adventure and explore parts of a far, far away galaxy in Virtual Reality themselves. The story will emerge from new but also iconic characters of the Star Wars galaxy – with different gameplay styles and levels of difficulty to accommodate a wide variety of players – from Star Wars fans to VR gamers. "
In the near future, the makers will share more details about the VR experience. Only this week Lucasfilm Publishing had to postpone the start of the new saga from "Star Wars: The High Republic" until the coming year.
