Next-gen versions announced with free upgrade

from André Left
Gearbox Software has announced the first-person shooter Borderlands 3 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Owners of the current versions receive a free upgrade. There will also be at least one other DLC for the wacky action game.

The first-person shooter Borderlands 3 will soon be available for next-gen consoles. Gearbox Software and 2K Games announced this at PAX Online. A specific release date has not yet been set, but the release on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X shouldn't be too long in coming.

According to current plans, the shooter should run on both platforms with 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. It will also be possible to play with up to four players in split-screen mode. By the way, if you throw yourself into combat together, you have the choice whether the screen is split horizontally or vertically – depending on your personal preference. The vertical option will soon also be available for the versions on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Speaking of PS4 and Xbox One: Who Borderlands 3 (buy now € 36.50 /€ 27.99 ) already owns for one of the current consoles, the next-gen version does not have to buy too. Instead, there is a free upgrade that includes all content that has already been purchased – including DLCs – and transfers it to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X – the Save Games are not lost either.
Gearbox Software has also announced that it will be releasing new DLCs for Borderlands 3. They are supposed to differ somewhat from the previous campaign expansions, but at least bring a new game mode and additional skill trees for every Vault Hunter. However, there are no more precise details or information on the release dates.
