According to current reports, Nintendo is said to have asked various developers to make upcoming games for Nintendo Switch compatible with 4K resolution. These rumors would fit very well with the supposed Pro model of the console that Nintendo is currently working on. In addition, the production of the Nintendo Switch was increased again at Christmas time.
Further evidence of a supposed Nintendo Switch Pro has surfaced on the Internet today. According to a report by Bloomberg, Nintendo is currently asking development teams to make their games compatible with a resolution of 4K. Just recently, a more powerful version of the Nintendo Switch was reported that can, among other things, play 4K content. There is no official confirmation.
Whether a Nintendo Switch Pro actually displays games in native 4K resolution in the end is currently still doubted. Instead, there is speculation about the use of DLSS, which is already used by Nvidia Shield. In the current model of the hardware there is an improved version of the chip that is currently in the Nintendo Switch. With the technology, new games would at least be displayed in upscaled 4K resolution.
Despite the release of the next-gen consoles, Nintendo is currently preparing for the holiday season. According to the report from Bloomberg, the production of the Nintendo Switch has again increased by 20 percent. An analyst also recently claimed that Nintendo will be ahead of the game in Christmas business – despite the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. On Tuesday, Hyrule Warriors: Time of Devastation was also introduced, a new game for Nintendo Switch that will be released during this period.
