In addition to the growth rates, profit and sales figures etc. for fans, the number of sales of the current home console from Nintendo is particularly exciting – as is currently known, this is the Switch. (buy now for € 338.00) It overtook the sales figures of the previous Wii U console shortly after the release in March 2017 and has been growing ever since, thanks to a good hybrid concept and many great games. With the new quarterly report there is again an updated number of total sales.
52.48 million – The number of times the Switch was sold worldwide up to and including December 31, 2019. 47.3 million of these are normal switch consoles, 5.19 million are already on the Switch Lite released in September 2019. Nintendo's forecast for the current fiscal year is a total of 19.5 million switch sales, including both models. To date, 17.75 million units have been sold in the fiscal year 2019/20 to reach the forecast, so another 1.75 million switch consoles have to be sold by March 2020.
