Just recently, the makers of AMC announced that Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride will slip back into their roles as Daryl and Carol as part of a spin-off from The Walking Dead. Reedus has now revealed more details about the series, which revolve around the original plans for the show. Accordingly, Daryl and Carol should get out of the main series early to start the spinoff. The events of the show would then have taken place more or less parallel to those of the main series. Every now and then Daryl and Carol would have appeared again in the main series – but they would no longer have been an integral part. In the end, you decided on the spin-off, but against the premature end.
The series with Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride will only be seen after the end of the eleventh season of The Walking Dead. Fans should not expect the start before 2023. Further details were not disclosed. As with the main series, showrunners Angela Kang and Scott Gimple will be responsible for the spinoff.
Fans of The Walking Dead can now look forward to a packed last season. Instead of 16, there will now be a total of 24 episodes in season 11. Because of the longer filming, the finale will only be shown in 2022. That month, the first episodes of The Walking Dead: World Beyond were also released on Prime Video.
