The developers of Blizzard at the weekend official WoW site released a preview of the throat and the opponents of the WoW: Shadowlands endgame zone.
Those who are banished into the maw are condemned to a bleak eternity. In this wild land without hope, the most shameful souls of the cosmos are trapped in eternal pain for all time. Should the ancient evil that is imprisoned here be freed, it will devour all of reality.
Back to the abyss
From the throat you begin your journey to the Shadow Lands – and after you have traveled through the realm of death, you must finally return there and face your horror again. Here you have to prepare for a long fight with the dungeon master to restore balance in the shadow lands. Your advances and successes in this terrible place will help you better understand your opponent and give you the power to resist his tireless attacks. However, with every victory you draw the attention of the jailer. He will keep his forces on your neck until you succumb to darkness.
Before the mortals found a way into the gullet, those bound by the gullet could be sure that their enemies could not escape. But with the power to come and go as you please, you pose a threat that must be removed.
If you defeat enemies in the maw or complete quests, you will earn Stygia, which you can use to acquire ciphers. These are powerful tools and buffs that will help you survive in this terrible place and in Torghast, the Tower of the Damned. With one of the ciphers Ve'nari sells, you can always choose between at least two Animaboni from all sources. If you always want to have some of your throat with you on your trips, you can also exchange your stygia for cosmetic items such as pets.
If you are subject to the forces of the jailer in the throat, you will lose part of your valuable stygia. However, if you dare to return to the place of your defeat, you can get back the lost stygia.
Since the judge has become inactive and no longer leads souls to their destination in the hereafter, all of them have instead been condemned to eternal pain in the throat. Many of the souls in the throat are already irretrievably lost. However, some are strong enough to withstand the tortures of the Maw and can still be saved. If you free these souls and bring them into your sanctum, you have not only made up for a cosmic injustice, but also recruited a new member for your pact!
The domain of the jailer
The beings that live in the throat are powerful enemies with whom you cannot mess. You will need to use all of your skills, strategies and tricks to survive.
The jailer’s servants who bring anguish and pain to the meanest souls.
- Throatbound Avenger: These winged warriors circle the sky and impale intruders with their spears.
- Mawbound Shadow Sorcerer: These powerful spellcasters fire deadly flashes of dark energy at anyone who opposes the will of the jailer.
Essence of death
The Aranakk were once assassins and scouts of the fallen House of Eyes, but now they are just nomads who don't follow a banner. Their burning hatred condenses into blazing stygia, which roam aimlessly and release their fiery anger at unhappy souls.
Dungeon Master's Eye
As you kill Mawbound on your way through the Maw and Decimate the Dungeon Force, he becomes aware of your presence. If you complete quests, open treasures and defeat rare enemies in the throat, you will be tempted Dungeon Master's Eye on. The Master of the Maw will torture you with increasingly treacherous punishments. These include siege fires that wreak havoc and assassins that hunt for you. There are five different threat levels. As soon as you reach threat level 5, you will be deprived of health until you fall. Then you can no longer enter the throat until the next day.
