If there's one Star Wars RPG that fans can agree on, it's Knights of the Old Republic. For years fans have been waiting for a sign of life from the series and it seems to be the time.
In the future, Star Wars games will no longer be developed by EA only, because Disney will once again be handling the Star Wars games and the other Disney franchises with Lucasfilm Games. The Exclusive deal with EA only runs until 2023 and competitor Ubisoft is already working on a new open world game in the Star Wars universe.
A new KOTOR – a new hope?
According to one VGC report a new KOTOR project should be planned. 2003 brought BioWare with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic gives players a terrific role-playing game that fans consider to be one of the best Star Wars games ever. Since the game is not created at EA, it will also BioWare doesn't have to be the studio in charge.
VGC refers to the statements of the known Star Wars Insiders BespinBulletin and its Statements in a podcast. There he said:
“In my research, I heard that a Knights of the Old Republic project is in development somewhere. I've talked to a few people and found out that Jason Schreier also said it wasn't made at EA and we wouldn't guess which studio is developing the game. "
According to the VGC report, these statements are confirmed by another source. Nate Najda, Communication Manager at the Wushu Sutdios, was active and confirmed as an insider under the name Shinobie602 in a forum the creation of a new KOTOR by an unknown publisher.
The seventh part of the saga is now coming to the cinemas and you still don't know which character is your favorite in the Star Wars universe? In this quiz you have the chance to find out which character your soulmate is!
Whatever happens there in connection with KOTOR, it will take a few more years. Players will still have to wait two decades, hopefully it will be worth it. If you want to go to the old republic at the moment, you either have to grab one of the two KOTOR parts or the 2011 MMO The Old Republic.
