Electronic Arts will soon be releasing a completely new launcher for the PC. This also means that the publisher will not use the Origin name, which was first introduced in 2011. In addition to a new design within the software, players can also look forward to a new name. Only recently, the company also found a new name for EA Access with EA Play. There is no date for the launcher yet.
Another Electronic Arts service will soon be given a new look. After the publisher revealed a new name for EA Access and Origin Access with EA Play a few days ago, the company now also wants to make changes to Origin itself. EA's launcher was launched in 2011 and has since been home to numerous of the publisher's games. In the meantime, Electronic Arts is releasing its titles on Steam.
According to Michael Blank from EA (Senior Vice President) the new launcher will go under the name "EA Desktop App". With the program, games should "be found, downloaded and started faster" than ever before. But those responsible have not yet revealed when we will see the launcher. We will of course keep you up to date on this.
EA and Microsoft recently announced a partnership that will make EA Play part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This means that subscribers not only have access to the Microsoft service library, but also to EA's titles. EA Play is also included with Xbox Game Pass for PC membership. Upcoming EA highlights include FIFA 21 and Star Wars: Squadrons. Recently there have been rumors about a new edition of the Mass Effect Trilogy.
