Overview of digital events and live streams
Everything is different this year. Due to the pandemic caused by the Covid 19 virus, there will be no E3 2020 in June. The US game fair was officially canceled in mid-March. Especially against the background of the generation change of the consoles by PS5 and Xbox Series X, developers and publisher gamers want to present their innovations to gamers. Digital events and live streams are intended to remedy this. We provide you with an overview of the replacement events for the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2020.
For example, US industry icon Geoff Keighley bundles a series of events, live streams and new announcements and much more under the label Summer Game Fest. From May to August 2020 there are always smaller events that you can easily follow via known streaming channels. In the following, we list previously confirmed dates and events that will take place in the coming weeks instead of E3 2020. By the way, Gamescom 2020 will take place in digital form later in the year.
In addition to game manufacturers like Ubisoft or EA, Microsoft also offers a lot of news over the summer. The Xbox Series X is scheduled to be released for Christmas 2020. Console competitor Sony is likely to follow suit shortly and present details on PlayStation 5. At the time of this special's release, however, nothing has been officially confirmed, but rumors suggest that Sony is apparently planning a presentation in early June. A live stream in the course of Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest is quite conceivable. As soon as new events or streams are confirmed, we will update this overview with an update. Industry icon Geoff Keighley organized a lot of events until Gamescom. There are many announcements, live streams and presentations under the Summer Game Fest brand. A cooperation with Sony on the PS5? Currently not confirmed, but a live stream regarding PlayStation 5 is conceivable in the coming weeks. As part of the Summer Game Fest, Sony already showed game scenes from The Last of Us 2 on May 27.

It includes developers or publishers such as Head Up Games, 11bit Studios, Larian Studios, Funcom, Paradox Interactive, Rebellion, Humble Bundle and more. The starting shot is fired on June 6, 1 a.m.CEST via twitch.tv/Guerrillacollective. The following shows as part of the Guerilla Collective are also scheduled for June 6, 2020. Valve's PC gaming platform Steam is hosting the Steam Game Festival from June 9th to June 14th. According to their own statements, the makers "celebrate" fantastic upcoming games. The focus here is on games that will be released in the coming year. In addition to briefly playable demos, developer events will also take place.

Whether FIFA, Battlefield, Madden or the Anthem successor, Publisher Electronic Arts is delivering a digital conference on its upcoming game highlights. There may also be a few games for the next-gen consoles PS5 or Xbox Series X on the program. More precise details are still pending here. If possible, we will deliver a live stream to the event as usual.

Forward (Ubisoft)

Ubisift Forward is the digital conference of the Assassin's Creed manufacturer. On June 12th at 9:00 p.m. CEST, we will also offer you a live stream for this digital event, if possible. Ubisoft also doesn't give any details yet, but promises "exclusive game news, exciting new announcements and more".

Indie Live Expo

Indie developers stream from Japan at the Indie Live Expo. The program is certainly based on Japanese games. Games from "a variety of other countries" have also been announced. The creators promise a "multitude of new experiences, friendships and discoveries for people around the world."
Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft – More events still open
The three console manufacturers Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft have not yet confirmed an official presentation for the period of E3 2020. As soon as other publishers announce live streams or events, we will add an update to this overview. Nintendo apparently postponed a Nintendo Direct planned for June. So with news for the Nintendo Switch, it could take some time. Rumors of Resident Evil 8 at Capcom also point to an early unveiling of the new adventure, but an official statement is still pending here. Bethesda, however, had confirmed that there were no events in June. Publishers like Square Enix, Epic Games, Activision or Warner Bros. are still pending.
