On Friday, April 16, 2021, the Overwatch League goes into the next season with lots of new features and a bit of renovation. Blizzard has a lot in store for the fans this year and the OWL team is excited to see you all again for another year of exciting matches and epic moments.
This year, the regular season game consists of four tournament cycles – May Melee, June Joust, Summer Showdown and Countdown Cup – and teams play four qualifying games in each cycle to determine the selection for each of the highlight tournaments. Click here for more information on the season format, tournaments and more.
It starts with a “Battle for Texas” between two fresh roasters, followed by a strong All-Cali showdown with the two-time defending champions. Don’t miss the action on opening day! The Watchpoint pre-show starts on Friday April 16 at 8:30 p.m. and the games begin at 9:00 p.m. CEST.
Again this year there are rewards for watching the Overwatch League. It’s now even easier by linking your Blizzard Battle.net account directly to YouTube. T-Mobile’s Overwatch League Perks has cool stuff all season long, including the ability to spray Overwatch League hero skins (like the one from “Soe” for the opening weekend) and much more. You can find out more about this here.
With the Visual experience improvements this year you can now enjoy every game in breathtaking 4K quality, capture the most memorable moments and much more. Check out the Overwatch livestream channel here. Have fun!
