The upcoming patch 9.1 for WoW Shadowlands brings innovations everywhere. Among other things, the mediators now sell you pets for various resources. Including a yellow Klunkerwurm, which you can buy for a mere 10,000 polished pet charms – while the other colors only cost a few gray items.

Pets and pet fights are among the types of content in WoW that cause different reactions. Some consistently ignore them, while others collect one or the other pet and now and then do a pet battle world quest. Others, on the other hand, collect every pet they can get their hands on, level up pet by pet and, for example, are happy that the limit for the maximum number of pets per account was recently lifted. Hopefully the latter have collected enough lucky charms in the past weeks and months. Because with patch 9.1, the mediators in Oribos (pet dealer keeper Ta’hult) expand their offer with some clunker worms. While three of the pets are only available in exchange for gray items, the yellow version of the Klunkerwurm costs a whopping 10,000 Polished Pet Charms!

Why this one worm is so much more expensive than the other three is unclear. Some suspect that it might not just be a different color of the same worm, but that it might be larger or equipped with special abilities outside of combat. WoW developer Jeremy Feasel responded to these assumptions on Twitter with a simple “hmmm, okay”, which of course can mean anything and nothing. Maybe the costs are just placeholders.

What do you think is behind it? Just a special pet for the pet battler of the world who already has everything else – or something else?
