So that you keep the overview, we want to bring you closer to the end game of Path of Exile step by step in this guide. We hope you enjoy reading and good luck on your way to level 100!

The maps – entry into the endgame

The linchpin of Path of Exile's endgame is the so-called map system. The maps are maps, each of which represents its own play zone with its own boss. Unlike the campaign and its straightforward ten acts, you can play the maps in an independent order.

To be able to enter a map, you must first have it as an item in your inventory. So go to the Map device (Card apparatus) and activates them there, with six portals opening into the corresponding game zone. Every time you enter the map, one of these portals is made unusable. As soon as all of them have been used up, you may no longer visit the corresponding zone, regardless of whether you have completed it or not. So think carefully about whether you want to use your portal roles, for example, to replenish your potions or to sell loot. Dying should also be avoided as far as possible.

Craft and improve maps

Maps can be upgraded like normal objects using the crafting system. This makes it possible to provide the cards with various modifications. These bonuses can be, for example, increased magical resistance or more life for the monsters. The heavier and more numerous the modifications are, the more loot you will get on the corresponding map. So it is entirely up to you and the strength of your character which risk you want to take. Also note that there are even modifications that make the maps unplayable for some character types. For example, reflected magic damage can mean the end for all heroes who mainly rely on elemental damage.

The Atlas of the Worlds

Your progress in the map system is recorded on the atlas, which you can call up with the "H" key or via the menu. Here you can see all the cards listed and how they are arranged to each other. If you are looking for an unfinished map, you should concentrate on the maps that are linked to the desired destination on the atlas. Do you want that, for example atoll you have to tackle it for so long port graze until you are happy with the drop luck. Once a map is complete, you can find it anywhere as long as you meet the required item level.

With patch 3.9, the Atlas Endgame and the way you advance to higher tier levels have been thoroughly revised. How you should proceed, we have detailed in this guide explained.

Tip: If you shouldn't get anywhere on the atlas, the following retailer recipe helps: Exchange three identical maps with one retailer, which gives you a higher-quality map of the same region. This makes it easy to process those maps that you have not yet found. You can find more useful merchant recipes in this guide,

The hiding place – your hub zone for the end game

At the latest when you have reached the end game, you should set up your own hideout. Speak for it Helenawhere you can choose from all of the hiding places you have unlocked during the campaign. Here you will also find out where you can subsequently unlock zones. Once your hiding place has been created, it will serve as a starting point for all your activities. Your first step should be to place various important items.

  • Treasure Chest: Gives you access to your possessions at all times
  • Workbench: Here you apply your collected crafting recipes
  • Map Device: This allows you to open maps directly from your hiding place
  • The master: With them your convenient access to the master missions

Before you can place the masters in your hiding place, you must first invite them there. You can then start the master missions with them and purchase additional ornaments for your hiding place, which do not serve a specific purpose, but give your hideout a very personal touch.

The master side missions in the endgame

Masters are another important element in Path of Exile because they are used to unlock new challenges and game modes. You will meet a large part of the masters in the course of the campaign, but they will only really become relevant in the endgame.

If you have invited a master to your hiding place, you can start his master mission from there. The tasks you are faced with vary from small challenges to completely new game modes. This is a good alternative to the map system and thus ensures a lot of variety in the endgame. So that you are not unprepared for the tasks of the masters, we have listed them clearly for you and explained them in detail.

Zana – Random map missions

Zana will open a new map for you, on which you have to do a certain challenge. For example, defeating the boss or finding a specific item. Most of these missions are made even more difficult, so that only one portal is available to you or you have to fight against a time limit.

You close Zana Mission successfully, you will receive a new map as a reward. In addition, it offers you new cards for sale after each mission. With a little patience it is easily possible to complete all the maps that you lack on the atlas.

Alva – time travel and temple visits

Alva is the champion of the Incursion League. It allows you to Atzoatl Temple storm where deadly dangers and unique rewards await you. However, until the time comes and you are allowed to enter the temple, you have to do some preliminary work in the form of the so-called incursions Afford. You have the opportunity to travel back in time and influence the construction of the temple.

Every time you Alva encountered in a map, it offers you an excursion that runs in several steps. First, it will give you a look at the temple map, where you can see all the rooms that you can visit later. Each room comes with different gimmicks. For example, treasure chests can be in it or the monsters can be reinforced throughout the temple. Your task is now to design the function of the rooms according to your ideas. Before each time travel you see how you can change the corresponding room. It is possible to give the room a completely new function or to reinforce its current function. In total, a room can be reinforced up to three times.

How you can change or reinforce the rooms, you can see from the two builders, who are located in the north and in the south of the map. In order for a reinforcement to take effect, you have to kill the builder, whose effect you Not want to get. The time for this is quite tight during the excursion, which is why you should proceed quickly. As soon as the unwanted builder has been killed, you can take care of the remaining monsters.

However, the goal of time travel is not only to kill the builders, but also to connect the rooms on the temple map. To do this, you have to find the keystones that the monsters accidentally drop during the course and bring them to the red portals within the time limit. You can only enter them later if the rooms are connected.

In total, you have to complete twelve such time travel before you can visit the finished temple. Speak for it Alva in your hiding place, which opens a portal to the final zone. Enter the temple here and work your way into it, whereby you should focus on the rooms that you have strengthened in advance and that promise you the most loot.

Overall, the Incursion League a very worthwhile game mode in which rich and unique rewards await you. Designing the temple yourself and then being allowed to storm it is not only motivating, but also offers a lot of variety to the normal map endgame.

If you have caught enough beasts, you can visit the menagerie, where you can fight the animals again in battle. This will be rewarded with unique items, currency or special modifications for your equipment. Even if this league is rather simple, you can get great prices here.

Niko – The way down

In addition to the incursions belongs to Delve League probably the most complex gameplay elements that you can tackle apart from the normal maps. Here it is your task to penetrate ever deeper into an abandoned mine shaft. Before you get there, you need to collect enough sulfite that you can Nikos Master missions in normal map content.

If you have enough sulfite together, you can in Nikos Mine camps travel from where your expedition starts. About the Underground map you get an overview of the whole Azuritmine and how far you have advanced in it. There you can also see the paths that you can travel with the crawler and the rewards that await you at the end. Once you have decided on a destination, you must always be close to the crawler. Avoid coming into contact with darkness, as it damages your character and the monsters in it are not harmed. Once you have reached your goal, you usually have to survive a small event before you receive your rewards.

In the mine camp you can continue to strengthen your crawler and stock up on flares and bombs. You need this in order to Azuritmine Find hidden treasures and open new ways. The constant alternation between tough challenges and numerous rewards has made the Delve League a real hit within the "Path of Exile" community that everyone should try at least once.

Jun – The Hunt for the Syndicate

You start a master mission for June, it is your job to act against the criminal syndicate. You will meet the Syndicate members three times on the map, which will present you with various challenges. If you defeat the members, you can then manipulate the syndicate according to your ideas. This may be a bit confusing at the beginning, but after a little familiarization it quickly turns into flesh and blood.

The syndicate is divided into four areas: transport. attachment. research and intervention, On the links on the investigation board you can see which syndicate member is assigned to which area. Your goal here is to increase the information display under each area to 100%. You can achieve this by, for example, negotiating with the captive Syndicate members or capturing them. The higher your rank, the more information you will receive from them. So it's definitely worth increasing your rank before you question them.

If you have collected enough information on an area, you can attack the respective shelter. If successful, you will be rewarded with a lot of loot and information about the leader of the syndicate. All in all, you have to conquer every hiding place once before you can challenge the leader. If you are successful, the investigation board is reset and the game starts again.

Even if the attacks on the hideouts are rewarded with a lot of loot, they are not the only reward from juns Master missions. At least as important are the so-called "Veiled Objects", which you often receive from the Syndicate members. Bring them to Jun, where you can reveal them and decide for yourself which modification they will receive. The special thing about it: once you have revealed the modifications, you can use them yourself at the workbench and also enchant other objects. Since some of these special modifications are quite powerful, it is worth it alone to join the master mission a few times June to start, even if you are not working on the progress for the syndicate.

Cassia – Tower Defense in the Blight League

Cassia is the only master whose master mission you cannot start from your hiding place. Instead, with the start of every map there is a certain chance that you will encounter Cassia in it. Your task here is to master a kind of "tower defense" challenge. The monsters appear from the portals and then try to reach Cassia via the specified routes. To prevent this, you can build various defense towers, which can freeze or damage the opponents, for example. However, you will always have to do most of the work yourself.

Depending on your character and skill level, it can be difficult to successfully master these encounters. If you have defeated all monsters, you will receive Weihöle or, with a little luck, one Blighted map as a reward. If you activate this map in your map device, you have a much larger one Blight Encounter before, where you have to defend yourself against true hordes of opponents for a full five minutes.

Navalia – Secret Prophecies

Finally, too Navalia don't go unmentioned. Although you cannot start master missions with her, you can get it here prophecies in exchange for silver coins. Any of these prophecies represent a kind of quest and always bring you a small reward as soon as you meet the conditions. These can be minor things, for example a chaos orb, but sometimes a guaranteed 5 or 6 link on an item. The prophecies can even be traded with other players if necessary.

Path of Exile – further challenges

Path of Exile offers numerous other challenges, all of which also come from previous leagues. We would also like to briefly mention the most important of these below.

The legions

Occasionally you will encounter a Legion monolith that you can activate to reveal the soldiers frozen in it. Within a short time limit you have to free as many soldiers as possible from their rigidity. As soon as the time runs out, all the liberated soldiers come to life and attack you. For more loot, you should focus on the enemies that are marked with an appropriate loot symbol.

Breach

These are cracks between the dimensions, which are marked by a red hand on the floor. If you touch it, the crack opens and then continues to expand. As long as you are inside the rift, a lot of monsters will storm on you. Defeat them or seek your salvation in flight – as soon as you leave the crack, it will collapse and the opponents can no longer harm you.

Abyss

These appearances work similarly to the Breach League cracks. As soon as you touch it, you have to track it across the map and defeat all monsters that appear from it. If you are fast enough, you will receive special base stones for the talent tree from the chests that appear. With a little luck, a new dungeon will even open, at the end of which special boss opponents will be waiting for you.

Perandus

You will surely have noticed the Perandus coins that you get from time to time to accomplish certain tasks. Should you ever be lucky Cadira Perandus To encounter in the endgame, you can use these coins to buy certain items from him. These can be currency items but also unique uniques.

Harbinger

The Harbinger are rarely found these days. These special mobs are not only characterized by their blue glow, but also by the fact that you cannot attack them directly. Instead, you have to take on the opponents they summon. If you have defeated all the summoned enemy waves, you will receive a lot of currency splinters that you can put together to create chaos or even exalted orbs. There are also unique maps that are purely about the Harbinger rotate.
