The simple yet detailed graphics of Among Us has its own charm, but a YouTuber uses Unreal Engine 4 to show that you can still get a lot out of it.
Among Us: Does a YouTuber compete with Innersloth?
YouTuber Fat Dino is an independent content creator now known for creating popular mobile games using Unreal Engine 4 recreate in advanced graphics. One of his latest projects is a revised version of Among Us.
He's spent some time using Unreal Engine 4 to create a more realistic version of the hit game. Detailed textures, dynamic lighting and custom models make Among Us a whole new experience.
You can also bring the characters home as cute plushies.
Among Us comes to life
In a 10-minute video, the YouTuber explains which assets from the Unreal Engine Store he used to create the map The Skeld, the most famous map from the game. Although he only managed to reconstruct half of the map in time, he did thanks to the realistic graphics one can easily recognize and distinguish rooms like the cafeteria, the engine room and other places.
The original characters have a cute look, but according to the YouTuber, they would not have fit into the picture. So Fat Dino also designed new astronaut models to match the new graphics. They all have a different color and a backpack that matches their character.
His creation isn't just there to look at, however. To make the game playable too, he added some of the Among Us tasks, including dumping trash, scanning the admin card, and sorting out wires. Players can even run a scan to show they're on the crew.
Killing happens in the same way as in the actual game and sabotage is also possible. Among Us wouldn't be Among Us without the chat feature that players can use to find out who the cheater is – YouTuber Fat Dino thought of that too.
What do you think of his version? Feel free to write us your opinion in the Facebook comments.
