According to recent reports, the PlayStation Store for PS3, PS Vita and PSP will go offline shortly. The announcement should be made by Sony this month. With the end it would no longer be possible to buy digital games and DLCs for the respective platforms.

So if there is a title that you absolutely wanted to have, you will have to acquire it in the coming months. Purchased content can still be downloaded. According to the sources of The Gamer the PlayStation Store for PS3 and PSP will go offline on July 2nd, 2021. The PS Vita shop will probably only be open until August 27, 2021. This meant that the PlayStation Store was available for the last handheld from Sony for a comparatively short time. The PS Vita was released in Europe in February 2012. The store was online for just nine years.

On the other two platforms, players now had around 15 years to buy their games from the PlayStation Store. The PS3 was released in Europe in March 2007 – the PSP has been around here since September 2005. However, the PS Vita has never brought the desired success for Sony. To date, 16.21 million units of the handheld have been sold. For comparison: the PlayStation Portable has been sold around 81 million times. The Nintendo Switch has now also brought it to 80 million copies.
