The developers of Pokémon GO have responded to the feedback from fans on the new special research around the Shiny-Mew and adjusted the quest. Players should now be able to complete them more easily than before.

After Niantic recently published the new special research "All in one … No. 151" in Pokémon-GO as part of the Kanto tour, not all fans were enthusiastic. You are guaranteed to encounter a Shiny Mew after completing the associated quests, but the way there is very rocky – too rocky for some players.

Pokémon GO: Turn 151 Pokéstops for Shiny-Mew

The stumbling block for many Pokémon GO fans was the task of turning a total of 151 different (sic!) Pokéstop photo discs. We come across the number 151 again and again in special research and is related to the number that Mew has in the Pokédex. The fact that the developers ask the players to turn 151 different photo discs causes frustration, especially among coaches who live in more rural regions. You have practically no chance of finding more than 20 or 30 different PokéStops in your immediate vicinity, let alone 151.

Another problem is that we are still in the middle of the corona pandemic and there are lockdown rules in many places that can further restrict the search for further Pokéstops. Niantic has therefore made a change and announced via Twitter that players can now rotate any Pokéstop photo discs in order to receive progress on the quest:

This means: From now on you can simply visit the Pokéstop right outside your front door 151 times to complete the task.

Now you are asked: What do you think of this adaptation? Do you like the simplification? Or would you have preferred that Niantic also adjust the spawn rates of Dragon Pokémon, as many fans on Twitter are demanding? Write us your opinion in the comments!
