There will be mega changes in the Pokémon Go mega raids on December 1, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Mega-Turtok, Mega-Tauboss, Mega-Hundemon and Mega-Charizard Y disappear like Mega-Bisaflor from the difficult (and solo not really easy to do) raid challenges. But Mega-Rexblisar moves into the mega-raids, and then forms an interesting trio with Mega-Charizard X and Mega-Gengar.
We have already put together a counter-guide for Mega-Rexblisar in Pokémon Go for you, so that you can successfully face this chilly experience. As usual with the mega-Pokémon, if you defeat Mega-Rexblisar you unlock the mega-evolution of the Pokémon, but only catch the normal Rexblisar in the bonus challenge after a success over the raid boss.
Pokémon Go: Defeat Mega Rexblisar as a raid boss
Mega-Rexblisar is a Plant and Ice-type Pokémon, so nothing changes here compared to a normal Rexblisar. Mega-Rexblisar has a stately 44,824 CP if you meet him as a raid boss, so it is not quite as blatantly equipped as Mega-Gengar in this respect. As usual, ice and plants can best be fought with fire, which is why you want to use fiery counter-attacks for the fight, such as the mega-evolutions of Charizard and Hundemon. In snow and sunny weather, Mega-Rexblisar is boosted, then its possible plant attacks Razor Leaf (Immediate) and Energy Ball (Charge) will cause more damage (in the sun), but they shouldn't hurt your fire attackers much more. In snowfall, the ice attacks Powder Snow (Immediate) and Blizzard (Ark) shouldn't make you sweat too much either.
We recommend the following counter-Pokémon for the fight against Mega-Rexblisar. However, we left out Crypto-Pokémon, as these pocket monsters are very expensive to level.
- Mega Charizard Y with vortex and fire cannonade
- Mega dog monkey with fiery tooth and flamethrower
- Mega Charizard X with vortex and fire cannonade
- Reshiram with fiery tooth and fever
- Flampivian with fiery tooth and fever
- Heatran with whirls of fire and flames
- Entei with fiery tooth and fever
- Skelabra with a vortex of fire and heat
- Molasses with a vortex of fire and heat
- Lohgock with vortex and fire cannonade
- Victini with quick blows and V-generator
- Tornupto with cremation and fire cannonade
Pokémon Go: Catch Mega Rexblisar
As already mentioned, after a victory you will not catch Mega-Rexblisar, but a normal Rexblisar. So if you have successfully completed the fight against Mega-Rexblisar, after the duty, the freestyle follows and you have the chance to ban the pocket monster in your Poké Ball. Then Rexblisar has 1,349 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Rexblisar is boosted to level 25 in sunny weather or snow, then it has 1,687 CP with perfect 100% IV values. We wish you all the best with your hunt!
