Pokémon Go: Meowth Balloon Leaves Pokémon Go

from Susanne Braun
At the end of September 2020, the Meowth balloon and thus Jessie and James will say goodbye to Pokémon Go, but not without causing you real trouble again! With a bit of luck, grab Shiny Smogon and Shiny Rettan.

At the beginning of the month, in early September 2020, the developers of Niantic announced that the Meowth balloon in Pokémon Go will soon disappear on the horizon. On October 1st, 2020 at 00:00 the time has come, the balloon of the well-known rocket duo Jessie and James makes the bend. Before that happens, however, from Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020 from 00:00 a.m. to Wednesday, September 30th at 11:59 p.m. (local time), you will have the opportunity to increasingly challenge the team rocket duo.

The Meowth Balloon appears more frequently during this time and with a bit of luck you might encounter a dazzling Rettan and Smogon after defeating Jessie and James. It is not yet known whether Jessie and James will return in the future as part of a Team Rocket event. The announcement to the Mini-event for the Meowth balloon can be found on the official website of Pokémon Go. Below are a few quick tips on what counter-attacks Jessie and James can do.

You want to use the following counterattacks against Jessie and James in Pokémon Go:

  • You can compete against Jessie's pocket monster with a catapult and rock thrower. Use the catapult to use the challenge with Rettan to charge rock throwers for Sichlor and Childworm twice.
  • Against James' pocket monster, you can use Lucario with a slash and a dark aura, because neither Smogon, Sniebel or Tanhel have much to oppose this.
  • If you just want to get through the challenge, we recommend at least a Despotar with a catapult and crunch for Jessie's Pokémon.
