Update from February 26, 2021:

Voltolos can be seen in the raids of Pokémon Go. That alone may not sound very interesting, after all, the incarnation form of the Pokémon has been around for some time. But Voltolos also comes into play in the animal spirit form and that will definitely interest one or the other collector. You will meet Voltolos (incarnation form) from March 11, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to March 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. – and maybe you are lucky and can get hold of a dazzling Voltolos. From March 16, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to March 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., you can face Voltolos (animal spirit form). The change of form has no effect on the ideal counter-Pokémon for combat, so we recommend the following pocket monsters to you. We left out Crypto-Pokémon for reasons of cost.

  • Rameidon with catapult and hail of stones
  • Rihornior with catapult and rock thrower
  • Mega rexblisar with powder and meteorologist
  • Galar Flampivian with ice tooth and avalanche
  • Terracion with catapult and hail of stones
  • Mamutel with powder snow and avalanche
  • Demeteros (animal spirit form) with stone throw and hail of stones
  • Despot with catapult and stone edge
  • Glaziola with ice blast and avalanche
  • Snibunna with ice splinters and avalanches
  • Demeteros (incarnation form) with stone throw and hail of stones
  • Mega Gengar with dark claw and haunted ball
  • Mewtwo with psycho blade and ice jet
  • Brockoloss with catapult and hail of stones

Original message from March 2, 2020: In the Tier 5 raids of Pokémon Go from March 2, 2020 from 10:00 p.m., the legendary Pokémon Voltolos from the 5th game generation will be romping around, with the previously playable Boreos and Demeteros, which will probably follow in April, form the legendary trio of forces nature forms. Voltolos, belonging to the types electric and flight, should best be encountered with Pokémon that have attacks of the type rock or ice. You can find out exactly what these are in our guide to the counter-Pokémon for Voltolos below.

Pokémon Go: Voltolos as a raid boss

Before you have a chance to add Voltolos to your collection, you first have to bite your way through the considerable 46,044 CP that Voltolos has as a raid boss. As already mentioned, Voltolos is an electric and flight type Pokémon, which is why it is boosted to level 25 in windy and rainy weather, and then the three electric attacks in its attack pool (out of a total of six) are particularly painful. You should tackle Voltolos with at least three trainers if you have the perfect counterattacks. You play it safe with four to six high-level players, or with seven to nine low-level coaches. Whichever group size you should choose, you should use the following counterattacks:

  • Rameidon with catapult and hail of stones
  • Mamutel with powder snow and avalanche
  • Terracion with catapult and hail of stones
  • Rihornior with catapult and rock thrower
  • Despot with catapult and stone edge

You can then fill up your team with the following pocket monsters:

  • Glaziola with ice blast and avalanche
  • Snibunna with ice blast and avalanche
  • Mewtwo with psycho blade and ice jet
  • Brockoloss with catapult and hail of stones

Pokémon Go: Catch Voltolos

If you have successfully completed the fight against Voltolos and have the chance to ban the pocket monster into your Poké Ball, then Voltolos has 1,911 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Voltolos is boosted to level 25 in rain or windy weather, then it has 2,389 CP with perfect 100% IV values. We wish you all the best with your hunt!
