Pokémon Legends: Arceus puts you in the vast Sinnoh region of the Pokémon world. This might look familiar to fans from the games Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. You can explore this region freely in the role-play game and try to catch the Pokémon that live there.
A new open world game in the Pokémon world
As a trainer, you set out to look for pocket monsters in the vast plains. Then you have to study their behavior, sneak up on them and then catch them with a Poké Ball. You train the trapped animals so that they become big and strong. So you can use them in tactical round-the-clock battles against wild Pokémon. At the beginning you choose between Bauz, Feurigel and Ottaro as your companion. The game basically relies on the typical elements of the series, but lets you explore the big world freely and in 3D. The graphic style is somewhat reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The story takes place long before the other Pokémon games, as it is your job to complete the first Pokédex. Therefore, the Sinnoh region is not as densely populated as in the other games in the series. The story should also revolve around the legendary and mysterious Pokémon Arceus. But Nintendo did not want to reveal exactly what it was all about. For fans, however, it should also be interesting to experience an earlier version of the world.
It is precisely the aspect of being able to freely explore an open game world that should make Pokémon Legends: Arceus a special experience for fans of the game series. The release is scheduled for the Nintendo Switch in early 2022.
