Square Enix developers announce that there may be difficulties delivering the boxed version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake for release on April 10, 2020. The release itself is not in danger, the makers of the JRPG write, but the danger increases that physical units of the game do not reach many players in time – in Germany that is a problem anyway.

The developers of Square Enix are well aware of the global situation caused by the corona virus and have therefore published information for fans of Final Fantasy 7 Remake who would like to have the boxed version, i.e. the physical version for the release on April 10, 2020 on the shelf want to put – or even the (already out of print) 1st Class Edition. So … in German-speaking countries, fans may already have prepared themselves for not being able to find the boxed version on the dealer shelf on time, because April 10, 2020 is Good Friday and a holiday in Germany. Ergo closed almost all shops in and of themselves.

Fans around the world who are longing for the release of FF7R may find a similar situation. Because not only that due to the rampant corona virus, curfews and shop closures have already been decided in some cases. No, the risk of infection everywhere also limits production capacities. The creators of the new edition of the JRPG classic assure in their post that they will do everything possible to ensure that the game is on the shelves in good time, but also take the greatest possible consideration.

"Our priority is the safety and well-being of our fans and customers, with due regard to the advice of regional governments and the World Health Organization," they tweet via the official account for the remake of Final Fantasy 7. "We monitor the situation on a daily basis and work together with ours Partners, distributors, and all Square Enix teams in Europe and America to ensure that as many of you as possible can play the game on April 10th. " In this regard, the people of Square Enix promise another update on March 20, 2020. You will then find the update with us in a timely manner.
