The Platinum Games team has announced Project GG, a new game that will complete Hideki Kamiya's hero trilogy. Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101 have previously appeared as part of this trilogy. A small development team is currently working on an early version of the title. There is no release or official name yet.
As announced last week, the big announcement of Platinum Games has now been revealed in the current issue of the Japanese Famitsu. It is a new game currently being led by Hideki Kamiya (Director of Bayonetta). However, the title has no name yet and is initially referred to as Project GG. In an interview with Famitsu, Kamiya also spoke about the first details of the upcoming game.
According to this, Project GG is to become the third and last title of Hideki Kamiya's hero trilogy. In the past, Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101 were the two predecessors. The latter will be released in April 2020 as a remaster version for PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, after the associated Kickstarter campaign was able to raise over $ 1 million within a few hours. According to Kamiya, 15 people are currently involved in the development of Project GG. However, this number is to be increased in the future.
It will also be the first title that Platinum Games will release as an independent publisher. The release is then planned on several platforms. Because the project is still early in development, fans have to wait a bit for the first material. With the announcement, the second of four announcements became the mysterious Platinum4 teaser website revealed. We'll keep you up to date.
