There is apparently no new version of PlayStation VR available for the PS5 in the foreseeable future. If you want, you can use the PS4's virtual reality headset on the new console. However: in order to be able to plug PlayStation VR into the PlayStation 5, you need a special adapter for the PS4 camera (model CUH-ZEY1 or CUH-ZEY2). The publisher announced some time ago that Sony would provide the accessories free of charge. The adapter can now be ordered: The company has set up a new sub-page in the support area of its website, through which interested parties can secure the adapter required for PlayStation 5.
The ordering process of the Camera adapter for PlayStation VR on PS5 can be reached via this link. There you first have to confirm by captcha that you are not a robot. On the next page, Sony asks for the serial number of your PSVR model. You can find the number on the back of the processor box for PlayStation VR – there is a barcode between the USB and power connection.
The number, which usually consists of 14 digits, begins with the letter C, M or P. If you have registered the serial number on the Sony website, you enter your name and address on the next page. Sony will then send a confirmation email. A little later, the adapter should arrive in your mailbox free of charge – and you should finally be able to use the PSVR with the PS5. The new console will be released in Germany on November 19th. (buy now )
