The PlayStation 5 will definitely not be seen at this year's E3 in Los Angeles. Sony Computer Interactive has now officially confirmed that it will not be attending the fair. Instead, several hundred smaller consumer events are planned around the world.
The rumors of the recent past have now come true: Sony Computer Interactive is definitely not attending E3 2020 in Los Angeles. A spokesman has officially confirmed this in a statement to the industry magazine Gamesindustry.biz – and also made a statement.
"After careful consideration, YOU decided not to attend E3 2020. We have great respect for ESA as an organization. But we don't feel that the vision of E3 2020 doesn't fit what we're looking at this year Instead, we're building on our Global Events strategy in 2020 by participating in several hundred consumer events around the world, and we're focused on ensuring that fans feel part of the PlayStation family and have the opportunity to play their favorite content. "
Accordingly, Sony Computer Interactive is not represented at E3 in Los Angeles for the second year in a row. Sony already canceled participation for E3 2019. It is now clear that there will be no presentation of the PlayStation 5 with new details during the fair. Instead, Sony wants to focus on a variety of smaller events to introduce both the new games and the next generation of consoles. However, it is not yet known exactly where that will happen. Rumor has it that a PlayStation meeting will take place in February. We will of course keep you up to date in this regard.
