PS5 players are currently reporting a strange download bug. Like the portals, among others IGN and Video Games Chronicle the console gets stuck in a kind of endless loop when trying to download a game. "The console thinks it is downloading a game, but the download queue is empty," writes VGC. According to the information, it is not possible to cancel or restart the download. At the moment it only helps to reset the PlayStation 5 to the factory settings, which means a complete reset including the user data on the PS5.

Players report that the problem exists with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, among other things. As soon as the download starts, the data is queued for download even though no other game is being downloaded. Although the game is displayed in the library, the product page in the PlayStation Store suggests that the user does not yet own the game. The bug is apparently not limited to Black Ops Cold War. Users report similar problems when trying to download Godfall, Demon's Souls, Spider-Man: Remastered, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and the Disney Plus app.

So far there are no causes for the bug. It is also unclear how many users are actually affected by this problem. As soon as we get more information, you will find out as usual in our news area.
