“First of all we would like to thank you for your incredible patience. Now we look forward to being able to present to you what we have been working on,” writes Sony in the current issue PlayStation-Blog and thus apparently alludes to his lack of previous major online events and trade fairs. The publisher has announced a new showcase for September 9th, where it plans to present many more games for PS5. Players can therefore expect a “look to the future” of the PlayStation 5.

The show, which starts at 10 p.m. German time and is scheduled to last 40 minutes, promises the latest news “from PlayStation Studios and from some of the most innovative developers in the industry on upcoming game releases”. The main focus will be on games that will be released for the Christmas business in 2021. However, fans can look forward to news about PS5 games that are planned for next year.

The stream continues: “Stay close after the presentation for more updates from some of the studio teams featured in the showcase,” said Sony. One thing is certain: there will be no news about PlayStation VR 2.0 during the next showcase. In return, “lots of fantastic PS5 games from large and small development studios” are promised. It is not yet known which titles will be shown. The first-party games include a new God of War, Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7. The broadcast takes place on Twitch and YouTube, among others.
