Sony confirms the release date of Oddworld: Soulstorm. As the publisher announced in the current issue of State of Play, the adventure will be released on April 6th for PS5, PS4 and PC. The specialty: Oddworld: Soulstorm is one of the "free" PS Plus games in April 2021. Players with a subscription to the Sony online service will thus receive "free" access to the PS5 version of the adventure in April. As soon as you have linked Oddworld: Soulstorm to your PSN profile, you can play it permanently as part of an active PS Plus membership (around 60 euros per year).

In Oddworld: Soulstorm you slip into the role of Mudokon Abe, who is developing into the leader of a growing revolution. Soulstorm is the second game in a five-part series. "In it, you'll explore massive, wonderfully bizarre 2.9D environments of cinematic proportions, bristling with breathtaking graphics. The 2.9D approach allows you to step into the world. It makes for you bigger scope, more action and adds depth and immersion, "writes Sony on PlayStation Blog. The feeling of immersion is "even stronger" thanks to the haptic feedback from the DualSense controller on the PS5.

On your journey through the 2.9D environments, you acquire the necessary resources by stealing from opponents, looting lockers and rummaging through garbage cans. Using Abe's most famous ability, his mystical possessiveness, her opponent controls to use her strengths and weapons against her. The trailer included below provides a foretaste.

All readers receive daily free news, articles, guides, videos and podcasts about their favorite games. So far we have financed this site through advertising and kept it as free of clickbaits or paid items as possible, but since COVID-19 this has become increasingly difficult. Many companies are cutting or cutting their advertising budgets for 2020. Budgets that we unfortunately have to rely on if we want to continue to offer PC games free of charge as usual in the future.

For this reason we turn to you now. As a PC Games supporter, you can support us so that we can continue to offer our content in the usual form for free, without introducing a paywall or publishing clickbait news like "And you won't believe what happened next …" . Every contribution, large or small, is valuable.
