Size comparison of PS5 and Xbox Series X in new illustrations: The Japanese character designer Kei Sawada created 3D models of the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft and shows them in relation to current consoles. The 3D drawings are true to scale and give a good impression of the dimensions of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X or Series S. In addition to the Nintendo Switch, Sawada also compares the upcoming consoles with the PlayStation 4. Just as interesting: the size comparison with TV sets of different sizes and the game packaging.

During the PS5 presentation, Sony gave the final dimensions for the PlayStation 5 (buy now ) known. The PS5, including the disc drive, measures 390mm x 104mm x 260mm (W x H x D) and weighs 4.5kg. The digital edition has a size of 390mm x 92mm x 260mm (W x H x D) and weighs 3.9kg. The Xbox Series X, on the other hand, is 151mm x 151mm x 301mm. The Xbox Series S has the dimensions of 275mm x 151mm x 63.5mm. The differences to the Nintendo Switch and the game packaging become clear. We show you some of the pictures in the following gallery. Pre-orders for the PS5 started after the showcase on the night of September 17th. Currently, the contingents of most shops for pre-order are already sold out due to the high demand. The pre-order phase of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S starts on September 22nd at 9:00 a.m. at Amazon, Media Markt, Saturn, Gamestop and many other retailers. The PS5 will be released in Germany on November 19, 2020. Xbox Series X will be available on November 10, 2020.
