Update: The people in charge at Square Enix recently introduced the new look of Red XIII in the new edition of Final Fantasy 7 via Twitter. Original: One of the key elements of the original Final Fantasy 7 is that you can put together your group relatively freely. In the remake, however, the characters that you can play will be reduced to Cloud, Aerith, Tifa and Barret. Red XIII, for example, will only join your group as a guest character.
March 11 update:
The people responsible at Square Enix recently introduced the new look of Red XIII in the new edition of Final Fantasy 7 via Twitter.
Loud Dualshockers the tweet says: "Red XIII. A beast that can speak human language. It has a supple body covered in red fur, sharp claws and fangs, and a burning tail. It is currently being held at Dr. Hojo's facility and used as a research sample XIII is just a model number and not the real name of the beast. "
Original message from March 3rd:
The remake of Final Fantasy 7 is nearing completion and should be on the shelves from April 10, 2020 – or with luck a bit earlier in Germany, with bad luck a bit later, because April 10 is a holiday in Germany. Recently, the makers of Final Fantasy 7 Remake hosted a series of events during which the invited guests could play some scenes that go beyond the published demo. And one or the other enthusiastic fan noticed that the developers only presented Cloud, Barret, Tifa and Aerith as playable characters with whom the adventures in Midgar can be played. But what about the popular Red XIII, the wild flame-tailed beast Nanaki that is saved from the clutches of Professor Hojo?
The Authors from VG247.com have asked Co-Director Nakoi Hamaguchi and received the confirmation: Red XIII will only join your party as a guest character and will not be controllable by you. "The point," says Hamaguchi, "that Red XIII joins is relatively late in the story (the remake), so we have found that it's okay if he's just a guest character at the time of the game we don't really have the time to give the character a full story arc and credible development. " In Final Fantasy 7 Remake you usually control a group with three heroes, Nanaki will then be by your side in the last part of the game and act as a self-sufficient fourth hero.
If you have asked yourself the question of whether you are always on the go with Cloud or in between can control one of the other heroes outside of the battles, the makers of Final Fantasy 7 Remake also deny this hope: The controls will always switch back to Cloud as soon as a fight is over.
